The Dalí Universe exhibition is entirely dedicated to Salvador Dalí and it is truly a special occasion, which allows the public to look closely at the lesser-known aspects of this great artist’s work, discovering masterpieces still little known to the public. A vast selection of works, which includes bronze sculptures, glass objects, gold, collages and graphic collections, are exhibited with the intention of revealing the sources of inspiration of Salvador Dalí’s genius, to understand the life and the Master’s work. This exhibition will allow visitors to explore the labyrinth of the Master’s mind and admire the creative result of his infinite imagination.

Located in the heart of picturesque Montmartre, just a stone’s throw from the famous Place du Tertre, the Dalí Paris exhibition welcomes more than 100,000 visitors a year. In addition to the exhibition, the public can visit the two art galleries specializing in limited edition works by Salvador Dalí available for sale.

Over 600 square meters entirely dedicated to the master of surrealism! Dalí Paris is the only permanent exhibition in France entirely dedicated to Salvador Dalí, in particular to his sculptures and rare graphics. Among the more than 300 works on display, visitors will be able to admire sculptures such as the Space Elephant, the famous Dalinian clocks, and the famous Mae West sofa.

In the heart of Montmartre, Paris, two art galleries welcome visitors to discover the greatest artists of the twentieth century. Galerie Dalí presents a unique collection in France of limited edition sculptures, etchings and lithographs. At Galerie Montmartre Picasso, Dalí and Chagall are displayed in an elegant, well-lit space overlooking one of the most beautiful cityscapes in central Paris. The gallery is located on Place du Tertre.

Salvador Dalí Exhibition – Bruges shows a selection of famous artworks from the Dalí Universe collection; one of the greatest collections regarding the successful art of Salvador Dalí.

One of the largest exhibitions dedicated to the Catalan artist in our country, encompassing 170 works, „Salvador Dalí’s Universe” invites viewers on an unforgettable journey through the eccentric artist’s works: life-size sculptures, surrealist furniture and other specially crafted works of art whose composition ingeniously uses materials such as glass, bronze, gold and even diamonds. The exhibition at ARCUB – Gabroveni Inn tests the visitor’s perception of reality and goes beyond the limits of the rational. The surreal journey culminates in a unique VR experience that will leave a lasting impression on the memory and imagination of every visitor.

The exhibition highlights two particular and important aspects of Dalí’s creativity, which allow a deeper interpretation of the Catalan master’s artistic work: three-dimensional sculpture and graphic works that illustrate important literary themes. Dalí shapes the third dimension through his bronze sculptures, each representing one of his iconic surrealist images. His attitude towards sculpture is described in a paragraph of his biography The Secret Life of Salvador Dalí:

“Nowadays we know that form always derives from a process of investigation of the material… the specific reaction of the material when it is subjected to the terrible coercive force of space, which suffocates it, presses it and squeezes it everywhere, until it creates that growth which , starting from its life, reaches the precise limits established by the rigorous boundaries of its original reaction. Many times, a piece of material driven by an absolute impulse, denies the reaction; while another piece of material manages to create its own particular life, a piece of material that attempts to be what it is possible for it to be, abandoning itself to the pleasure of creating new forms, despite the tyrannical impact of space.”

Dalí, illustrator of great literary themes

The important collection of engravings and lithographs, the result of Dalí’s passion for great works of literature, shows the public the lesser-known side of Dalí as an illustrator and demonstrates how the artist was an extremely cultured man. His surrealist interpretation of literary paths ranges from classic texts, such as the interpretation of the Bible, to more modern books by contemporary writers. Mythology, religion and history stimulated Dalí to create a large number of images, characters and allegories, through which he told the stories we know.

An educational experience through a variety of works of art

The variety of works displayed in the Dalí Universe exhibition reveals the different techniques and materials used by Dalí. The glass sculptures created in collaboration with the Daum glassware, with their ethereal appearance and vivid colors, are the clear connection to a more imaginative world. Dalí believed that molten glass offered the perfect medium for “the expression of metamorphosis” that conveyed his surrealist perception of reality.

In addition to the sculptures, visitors can discover a series of original Mystical tarot collages and the collection of surrealist furniture.
Dalí’s brilliance is displayed so that the visitor has an educational experience and leaves the exhibition having learned something about Dalí’s methods, way of working and symbolism.
